(a) … left. The rock formation resemble petrified wood, and the little pools left by the tide invite exploration.

(b) … the rookery amid seaweed and rocks, they are hard to see.

(c) … the gifts are unwrapped and neatly arranged under the tree.

(d) … its own décor. (The beams in that room came from an old log house off Route 8 this side of Floyd VA. The original logs were sawed in two lengthwise and lag bolted to the ceiling/roof joists.)

(e) … the house except the kitchen and family rooms. The children have enticed her upstairs to the boy’s room and taken her picture. My recollection is that it was me who brought her upstairs and took this picture, for the benefit of the parents. — Mark
