The captions below each slide are Howard Jr.'s commentary. Some of the longer ones run into the next caption.

The saga of Howard P. King Jr. and Thelma Christine Thomas begins with their wedding on April 7 1950 in …

…the home of Dr. and Mrs. Watkins, Nashville, TN. With us that day were Howard’s father and step-mother…

…Howard P. King Sr. and Beulah Orr Berry King. Best man for the event was Howard’s half-brother, Bill.

Thelma’s maid of honor was her sister Lottie.

We look back to family and friends as we depart for a honeymoon weekend in the Peabody Hotel.

From our car we give a farewell smile to the photographer – who were our good friends Earl and Evelyn Olson.

Mammie Myrt and Granddaddy Taylor, Thelma’s parents, celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary. …

… The anniversary was actually Jan 12, 1963, but the celebration took place on June 16, 1963 so the guests could gather either outside or inside. The weather however failed to fully cooperate, as it was cloudy.

The ice carving done by Howard to honor the occasion. This picture shows the front porch of their house at the time.

Our favorite picture of Thelma’s father, taken on the celebration day.

Thelma’s mother on the same day. Note the watch hanging on the wall above her head. This belonged to Taylor,…

… and I believe is now in Herschel’s possession.

Cutting the cake.

Mark and friends celebrate birthday number 10 in the family room at 111 Dunton Drive.

Mark’s birthday, and we cannot identify all the happy little faces, but behind him is Howie, to his right standing is …

… Jim McFadden, and to his extreme right Edward Evans. [Mark: to Edward's left is Doug Smith, and half in the frame on my left is Cliff Murray.]

The first of many Christmas pictures to follow. The dog, Shag, had a little friend who was frequently with us.

“…and the stockings were hung…” This set was knitted by Beulah, the children’s step-grandmother.
